What is Iyengar yoga mean to Eeva?
The practice of Iyengar yoga extends beyond Asana (posture) work. Through detailed and precise instructions, the mind becomes still and the body stable. This practice is meditation in motion.
The detailed instructions have helped Eeva to free the thinking mind and step inside the body mind to feel the changes yoga does to oneself. She has experienced moments of profound release in the mind and body. The practice has given her tools for life to treat each situation she enters with focus & consideration.
Eeva also has holds BA in graphic design from St Martins in London.
The imagination & creativity is her inspiration that brings diversity and flow to her teaching of Iyengar yoga
Eeva has been studying yoga on a daily basis since 2001. Over the years, she has experimented with different styles of yoga, including the Astanga Mysore method, Yin yoga & Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Since 2006, Eeva has been concentrating on the study of Iyengar yoga, in order to help her understand the asana in depth. She holds the Intro 1-2 Iyengar yoga certificate, and is continuing her Iyengar training with Senior Iyengar teacher Alaric Newcombe. She also holds the teacher-training certificate accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga, and the Yoga Alliance from the Yoga Academy.
Eeva is interested in teaching yoga as a wholesome life style practice, where we find balance within nature and ourselves. Her intention is to create a non-competitive environment for yoga practice where we deepen our own self-study and personal development. Eeva’s classes combine creative breath-led fluid movement, balanced with meditative stillness.
